Alesis QS 6.1 64 Voice Expandable Synthesizer
Includes power cord
About This Keyboard
This Alesis QS-6.1 just came in and is in very good condition. Cosmetically it is above average with just the normal scuffs and scratches you should expect on a used keyboard. Mechanically it is in very good working order with everything we know how to test working just as it should. All of the keys play just as they should and all of the buttons and sliders work well. We're including a power cord.
The Performance and Composition Power Tool
The Alesis QS6.1 64 Voice Expandable Synthesizer offers a vast improvement on the original QS6, one of the most popular keyboards in its class. With double the sound ROM memory, the addition of Alesis' acclaimed piano programs, double the expansion capabilities, four edit/control sliders, a new LCD display and more direct-access functions, the QS6.1 becomes an affordable powerhouse synth that's equally great for MIDI composing and live performance.
Hundreds of Sounds For Every Application
The QS6.1 provides a huge sound library of 640 programs and 500 multitimbral mixes...the same great sounds from our powerful QS7 and QS8 keyboards. All the QS6.1's sounds are constructed from non-compressed 16-bit linear samples, adding texture and realism that inspires every performance. The QS6.1's 16 megabyte collection of sounds includes Alesis' stereo Bosendorfer grand piano, one of the most realistic-sounding piano programs ever implemented into a synthesizer. In addition, you'll get dozens of organs, cutting-edge and vintage synth sounds, strings, brass, winds, guitars, drums, percussion and much more. Plus, the QS6.1 has groups of rhythmic/sonic loops, built-in grooves that sound great on their own, and can also be used to add dynamic movement to your music.
Expandable to up to 32 Meg
The QS6.1 provides two PCMCIA-format ports which let you immediately access an additional 16MB of sound ROM without installing complicated circuit boards or waiting for disk drives. You can use this port with any Alesis QCard expansion that accommodates your musical style, whether you're into classical, hip-hop, pop, rock, orchestral music or otherwise. To use your own samples or sounds from other sample libraries, we included our Sound Bridge software that lets you import, save and playback AIFF, WAV and other sample formats. Plus, Sound Bridge will allow you to burn your sequences to a Flash RAM card and play them back directly from the QS6.1, so you can leave your computer at home when you play live.
QS Synthesis Power
The QS6.1's true 64-voice polyphony lets you work with complex sequences and create rich, stacked chords and layers while avoid the hassles of voice robbing. Using its QS Mix Mode, you can flexibly arrange programs into 16-zone keyboard splits, create thickly stacked sonic layers or assign programs in any combination to the 16 MIDI channels. This powerful multitimbral capability lets any sequencer play back multiple instruments in an arrangement. Complete creative control over the volume, panning, transposition, effects level and routing for each of the 16 channels in a mix is the key to forging detailed, personalized sounds on the QS6.1.
Expressive Performance Tools
The QS6.1 offers incredibly powerful controller functions that add expressiveness to all of your performances. Its four edit/control sliders are assignable to nearly any modulation parameter for both sounds and effects, so you could set them up to create exciting, dynamic real-time changes for recording and live performances. You can also route the QS6.1's assignable pedal input to any modulation destination. Plus, its 61-key, semi-weighted keyboard provides velocity, release velocity and aftertouch functions for adding expression and feel. A dedicated sustain pedal jack, and pitch and mod wheels complete the QS6.1's performance control tool kit.
Built-In Four-Bus Multieffects
The onboard multieffects of the QS6.1 includes great-sounding reverb, chorus, distortion, EQ, delay, rotary speaker simulation and more. Plus, the QS6.1 provides four completely independent multieffects sends which allows you to add reverb to a drum, chorus to a guitar sound, lezlie to an organ and so on, each with its own effects send level. Combine these effects with the massive sound library and the powerful multitimbral mix mode, and you can create entire CD-quality productions.
Complete Your Workstation with the Alesis CD-ROM
With a QS6.1, your computer and the included Alesis CD-ROM Software Pack, you have all the elements required for a complete MIDI production workstation. The CD-ROM (in Macr and Windowsr format) gives you Alesis' Sound Bridge and FreeLoader applications, plus programs for sequencing, editor/librarians, notation, extra samples, programs and mixes, sample sequences, demos and more. Many of these applications are from the biggest names in music software, like Steinbergt and Mark of the Unicornt, so you'll be on par with the best MIDI workstations.
Powerful Serial Computer Interface
In addition to its MIDI In, Out and Thru connectors, the QS6.1 offers another way to interface with computers. Its high-speed serial data port makes it easy to connect your QS6.1 to any computer - no need for an expensive external MIDI interface. Operating up to four times as fast as a MIDI interface, this port can access both Macintosh or PC platforms, and makes it easy to get into sequencing, notation, sample importing and downloading, editor/librarians and multimedia authoring.
New LCD Display and New Features
The QS6.1 offers a larger LCD display than the original QS6, so all of the information you need is available at a glance. Plus, the QS6.1 includes dedicated buttons for "Transpose" and "Sequence Start", which is especially useful on stage, where paging through menus is not an option.
If you've been waiting for a compact synth that combines great sounds, serious customizability and control, and professional features at an incredibly affordable price, wait no longer: the QS6.1 has arrived.
It is important to remember that when buying a used keyboard it may not operate or look exactly like a new one. Used keyboards develop wear over time that can cause such items as function buttons, knobs, sliders etc. to fail to operate as smoothly or easily as when they were new. Our technician does check these items and if they are deemed unusable they are replaced but some function buttons may require more pressure or manipulation to make the appropriate changes. Cosmetically your used keyboard may have scuffs, scratches, cracks to plastic pieces, discolored keys or other visual impairments that might not show up in the photos. We try to mention any obvious visual imperfections but may not consider them serious enough to post in the listing.
